the making of 'jack' in 1991 (and until now)

a long time ago, a bunch of half naked people who were not jumping on other people's beds and breaking them, were in quieter moments, sitting at the end of squad 2 contemplating life. for some reason we thought, and i think shen loong, joel and our brilliant T-shirt designer were also involved, decided that another name was necessary for 'choong hiong'. then i looked at him, strutting along our corridor in nothing except his tight white shorts, infecting other beds with the then infamous groin disease that many of us feared, and i said, 'jack, why not jack'.
